Knowledge & Skill Statements

The 2008 National Career Cluster® Knowledge and Skills statements were updated in 2011- 2012 to serve as the foundation for the Common Career Technical Core. The statements are a comprehensive collection of industry-validated expectations of what students should know and be able to do after completing instruction in a career program area. These statements reflect the expectations of postsecondary education and business and industry for entering into a career in a given area—and are used to guide curriculum development, assessment, and program planning. The Knowledge and Skills Statements are available for all careers in the 16 Career Clusters—and are organized into Career Pathways.
