COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP: FEEDBACK-ADVOCATE-PILOT TESTING (Draft)

  • Consider how your individual department(s) or those in your network can align with the common agenda.

  • Communicate with stakeholders to solicit feedback on strategy, community engagement, and shared measurement.

  • Establish connections between departments/colleges to ensure coordination, efficiency, and effectiveness of initiative.

  • Serve as a vocal champion of the collective impact effort in the campus and external community.

  • Contribute insight, candid feedback and recommendations regarding the development of the initiative’s philosophy, innovative strategies and stages of development.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES (Draft)
  • Create Advisory Committee who will deliberate, advise, make decisions, provide strategic oversight, and serve as the primary “advocate” for all developed module initiatives.
  • Partner with faculty, online coordinators, students, UIS campus community, alumni, and employers to contribute to the overall success of the initiative and ensure content is current and relevant to learner demographics and interests.
  • Use research, data and best practice standards to inform strategy development and implementation guidelines.

  • Track progress of work using agreed-upon indicators.

DESIGN ELEMENTS (Draft)
  • Enhance learner's engagement based on relevancy to learner's goals.
  • Embrace learner-centered interdisciplinary and authentic  real-world learning concepts, activities, and projects to foster adaptable lifelong learning and career planning skills.
  • Ensure multiple-entry access points are available and designed to accommodate diverse, adult learners. 
  • Develop adaptable, personalized student learning objectives and outcomes incorporating interdisciplinary thinking, creativity and innovation resulting in higher level learning activities.
  • Leverage Alumni, Community/Industry Experts to obtain diverse perspectives and provide opportunities to engage with students.
  • Utilize both Formative Assessment (Indicators of Desired Outcomes) and Summative Assessment (Cumulative evaluations used to measure student growth) to gather data and analyze for continuous improvement.
